Can't help feeling the queen looks slightly angry or miffed on this fine note. Why is it also known as the plastic pound?

This note is commonly known as the 'Plastic Pound',as it is made from Bradvek (which is no longer made,as far as I am aware),which is in the same family of plastics as Tyvek (which the Chatham Islands Series I notes (1999) are made from)),which is commonly used in the construction industry.

As for the Queen's portrait, she is seldomly depicted smiling, considering that she is known to be pretty stern & serious.

Aidan.
